An animation of the lightning sequence:
The total duration of the electrical activity was 41.1 minutes, with plume heights to
12.2 km. The electrical activity associated with this explosion began with two very
localized and shorts spurts of activity over the peak of Redoubt. Activity then paused
for about 2 minutes before localized activity resumed over the peak. The lightning sequence
proceeded typically, with discharges becoming larger and more discreet, and
frequency decreasing towards the end of the sequence.
